ACADEMIC WRITINGS

I have a PhD in Sociology, graduate from the University of Toulouse – Jean Jaurès (France), associated member of the Centre d'Etudes Travail Organisation Pouvoir (CERTOP), part of the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). I obtained two doctoral scholarships, one from the French Agricultural Research and International Cooperation Organization (CIRAD) in Montpellier (France) and one from the Centre for Social Sciences and Humanities (CSH) in New Delhi (India). I am currently a postdoctal researcher at the Centre for Economic and Social Studies on the Environment (CEESE) in Brussels, Belgium.

My research focuses on sociology of food decisions and determinants of food transition. In this context, I engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue with the analysis of the social and cultural dimensions of the nutritional transition. In the Indian fieldwork, I have shown the role of the categories of common sense "vegetarian" and "non-vegetarian" in the protein transition, as they are recomposed in social interactions and by the influence of nutrition categories. In a new fieldwork in Brussels, the research focuses on representations of "sustainable food" of individuals and their practical expertise. The methodological anchor in participatory research action allows identifying the levers and constraints to change and the impact of promotional tools on sustainable food.
